How to...

Fitting your first hair system

  • When you first receive your hair system place the backing plastic on your scalp and mark around the perimeter of the thinning area with a fine tip marker

  • Cut out around the marked edge with a pair of scissors. Place on the scalp to ensure you are happy with it's fit.

  • Tape around the edge of the template and down the centre.

  • Remove the backing for the tape and place the system on top laying it out from the front hair line so that any overhang is done at the rear.

  • Cut the lace using a sharp craft knife. Always cut from the inside out to avoid cutting the hairs.

  • If you are fitting for the first time use your template and clippers to mark and then cut away the thinning area on your head.

Attachment

  • For tapes (except Lace Front Tape Thin) apply directly to the base.

  • Glues should be applied to the skin and allowed to dry until tacky. To help locate the glue use your template and a soft pencil to mark the hairline.

Releasing

  • Protect your eyes by wearing a head band. For lace bases spray directly over where the glue/tape was used. For thin skin bases spray at the edge of the system and using your fingers work the release agent under the membrane.

Cutting in

  • Attach the sytem to your scalp or pin to a polystyrene head. Cut the hair all over with straight edge scissors to the maximum length required.

  • Starting at the sides and working towards the centre use the thinning scissors to cut to length. For each cut also use the scissors about 10-15mm back from the tips to create hairs of different lengths. This helps blend the system where it meets with your own hair.
